Finally, a real answer to the question you've been carrying for years.
Comprehensive ADHD assessments for adults, teens and children with no waitlist. In-person on Adelaide Street in Downtown Toronto, or virtually anywhere in Ontario.
Is this ADHD, or is it just me?
You’ve spent a long time wondering. Maybe a friend mentioned their own ADHD diagnosis, and it sounded familiar, or an article online described how your brain has always worked. Maybe a teacher gently suggested you “look into things” for your child.
The late nights, the unfinished projects, the inbox you can’t face, the sense of working twice as hard just to keep pace is becoming too much.
An ADHD assessment in Toronto is where the wondering stops and the clarity begins.
Whenever you're ready, we're here for you.
ADHD Assessment in Toronto
What is an ADHD Assessment?
For years, you’ve called it laziness or a lack of willpower. An ADHD assessment finally gives it the right name.
An ADHD assessment is a thorough evaluation that determines whether it is ADHD or something else. It’s not a quiz you pass or fail. It’s a careful look at how your brain, or your child’s brain, works.
At Stark Wellness Clinic, our assessment does three jobs at once:
- Confirm or rule out the diagnosis. We check your symptoms against DSM-5-TR criteria, so you get a real answer.
- Screen for what else might be going on. Anxiety, depression, learning differences, executive functioning challenges, and sleep issues can all look like ADHD. We check for them too.
- Measure severity and real-world impact. We use standardized tools, not a single test, to see how much this affects daily life and day-to-day executive function, like planning, focus, and follow-through.
We also identify the presentation type, predominantly inattentive, predominantly hyperactive-impulsive, or combined, and note whether it’s mild, moderate, or severe. That precision matters because misreading ADHD symptoms is one of the most common reasons people get the wrong answer for years.
It takes a different kind of strength to keep showing up the way you have, and a braver kind to finally ask the question out loud. We’re here to help you find explanations just as soon as you’re ready.

- "I can't finish anything. Half-read books, abandoned side projects, a closet reorganization I started in 2019."
- "I lose my keys, my wallet, or my phone more than once a day."
- "My best work happens at 11 PM the night before it's due, and everyone keeps telling me to just use a planner."
- "Homework takes three hours and ends in tears, sometimes my kid's, sometimes mine."
- "He hyperfocuses on Minecraft for four hours but can't focus on brushing his teeth for four minutes."
- "She forgot the permission slip three days in a row, and the teacher's note says, 'bright kid, but...'"
If any of this sounds familiar, take it as a sign that you're ready for clarity.

How An ADHD Assessment Can Help
Quiet The Overwhelm
Managing a job, a household, finances, or a kid’s homework can leave anyone with ADHD feeling buried. An ADHD assessment explains why daily life feels this heavy, then hands you practical strategies that make it lighter and a lot more doable.
Make Work Or School Feel Manageable Again
For adults, work can feel like a daily uphill climb, with missed deadlines, scattered projects, and constant distraction. For children and teens, it’s trouble following directions, staying focused, or finishing assignments, even when they’re bright and capable. An ADHD assessment for adults and kids gets to the root of it, then points you toward strategies that improve focus, organization, executive functioning, and follow-through.
Understand The Bigger Emotions
ADHD isn’t only about attention. It can make feelings land harder and feel tougher to manage. That might look like frustration over small things, a short fuse, or a sense of being swamped by ordinary days. ADHD testing Toronto helps you, or your child, make sense of those reactions, then build healthier ways to ride them out.
Ease The Strain On Relationships
Forgetfulness, interrupting, and impulsive decisions can wear on relationships, at home, at work, and everywhere in between. Partners feel unheard, and parents feel like they’re repeating themselves. A Toronto ADHD assessment makes sense of these patterns, so you can start building stronger, steadier connections.
Build Confidence & Connection
For adults, years of struggling can lead to isolation or a sense of being misunderstood. For kids, trouble reading social cues or taking turns can make friendships hard to keep. An ADHD assessment names these challenges and offers real tools to grow communication, social awareness, and self-confidence.

Questions About ADHD Assessment
What does the assessment actually involve?
It’s far more than a checklist. You’ll complete standardized questionnaires beforehand, then sit down with a Nurse Practitioner who specializes in mental health and ADHD assessments for a structured clinical interview covering your history, daily functioning, and any documentation you’ve shared. The NP also screens for conditions that can look like ADHD, things like anxiety, learning differences, executive functioning difficulties, or sleep issues, so the diagnosis is accurate, not just assumed.
How long does the whole process take?
Not long at all, and that’s by design. After you submit your questionnaires and complete your assessment appointment, you’ll know your diagnosis and treatment plan right away. There’s no waitlist, and no waiting weeks for a report to land in your inbox.
What happens if I'm diagnosed with ADHD?
You’ll receive individualized recommendations, which may include therapy, coaching, skill-building strategies, or medication options. All of it can be supported right here within our clinic, including our 8-week ADHD program and a medication follow-up process. You won’t be handed a diagnosis and sent off to figure out the rest alone. If you have any questions about follow-up care, feel free to reach out.
I've already been treated for anxiety or depression. Could it still be ADHD?
It’s possible, and it’s more common than you’d think. ADHD often hides behind anxiety or depression, or shows up alongside them. Many adults spend years treating the symptoms without much change, because the underlying piece was missed. Part of our assessment is sorting out what’s what, so you finally get the full picture.
Is the ADHD assessment covered by insurance?
Many extended health plans do reimburse for psychological assessments. Coverage varies from plan to plan, so we recommend checking with your provider directly to confirm the details for ADHD evaluations before you book. If you have questions about fees or how it all works, our admin team is always happy to walk you through it.
Is the ADHD assessment done in person or virtually?
Both, and the choice is yours. We’re right downtown at Yonge and King on 25 Adelaide St W Unit 720, Toronto, if you’d like to come in. If you’d rather skip the commute, the exact same assessment happens virtually anywhere in Ontario.
How much does an ADHD assessment cost?
The assessment is $750, and a follow-up appointment is $150. We keep our pricing transparent so you can make a clear decision without chasing down a quote.
Do I need a doctor's referral to book?
No referral needed. You can book directly, and our admin team will guide you through every step from there.
Will my school or workplace accept the documentation?
Yes. You’ll leave with detailed documentation stating your diagnosis, which you can bring to your school, your child’s school, or your employer to support accommodations like extra time, flexible deadlines, or a quieter workspace. If your specific program has unusual requirements, mention it when you book, and we’ll confirm before we begin.
Are accommodations available during the assessment itself?
Yes. We can build in breaks for anyone who finds long sessions tiring, and we make the environment as comfortable as possible for clients who feel anxious going in. If you or your child needs a specific accommodation, just let us know ahead of time.

What Changes After An ADHD Assessment
A diagnosis isn’t a label. It’s the moment the story shifts. Change unfolds differently for everyone, and what counts is having answers that point somewhere useful.
Once you have the assessment in hand, you may start to notice:
- You have a name for what you've been living with, and "I'm broken" becomes "this is treatable."
- You’re able to access accommodations that were out of reach, at school or at work.
- You can make an informed decision about medication, backed by real data.
- You stop blaming yourself or your child for things that were never about effort.
- Building systems that work with your brain instead of against it becomes easier.
- The people close to you understand you differently, with more patience and less friction.
- The shame lifts, often more than you expect, and a path forward opens up.
