Types of trauma-informed therapy available for fertility

Our therapists at Stark Wellness Clinic are highly trained in many different methods to support your fertility journey. We recognize that this is a unique process for each client with different perspectives and concerns. Therefore the choice of method is tailored to your current state and reasoning behind seeking therapy. We aim to bring comfort and insight into your life through the evidence-based techniques and compassionate environment we offer. Together, we can define and understand your challenges and emotions using the most effective therapeutic practices that increase your chance of success.

Three of the primary research-based interventions we use are Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Trauma-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

EFT

Emotion-Focused Therapy is a method that helps clients develop their emotional intelligence in order to become more aware of their emotions and negative behaviour patterns while learning new and healthier ways to approach conflict with their partner. This approach is for new couples experiencing infertility and aims to help clients develop a more nurturing and supportive bond with their loved ones.

Trauma Focused Therapy

Trauma-Focused Therapy is a specific approach that is built on the understanding of how traumatic experiences impact an individual's well-being. The purpose of trauma-focused therapy is to offer skills and strategies to assist clients in better understanding and coping with their own emotional distress and develop skills that can improve their relationships and mindset through their journey. This approach allows clients to express and explore their difficult emotions in a safe setting that welcomes healing and promotes self-compassion.

CBT Icon

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an approach that is designed to change your thinking and behaviour patterns related to infertility to improve the way you feel. CBT sessions are typically focused on how to develop the skills needed to change your distortions in thinking and reevaluate them in light of reality. It also aims to improve coping strategies in order to deal with difficult situations and plan for future treatment.
