Internal Family Systems (IFS)
What is Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS is an empirically validated therapeutic model that views the self as made up of many different "parts". Each part has its own perspectives, feelings, and roles.

By getting in touch with all of those internal parts and systems, individuals can work toward wholeness and achieve a more balanced emotional state.

By identifying the different parts of yourself, recognizing and differentiating them, often through exploring feelings, thoughts and behaviours that seem contradictory or confusing, one can start to have a deeper understanding of themself. This allows them to begin a dialogue that understands the fears, desires, and different roles they all play in one's life.
IFS helps improve emotional regulation, enhanced self-compassion, heal wounded parts, resolve internal conflicts, and help with developing better copping strategies.

It is used to help you better understand yourself and your trauma at a deeper level. It provides a safe space for you to learn how to improve your emotional regulation and relationships, as well as understand how to overcome feelings related to shame and self-esteem.
Internal Family Systems therapy offers a compassionate and non-pathologizing approach to mental health, emphasizing the innate wisdom and healing capacity of the self. By fostering internal harmony, IFS helps individuals achieve greater emotional well-being and resilience.
